The Accelerated Literacy teaching sequence is an ordered cluster of literacy teaching strategies. When you use them each day, they become a teaching routine. They are not intended to be used in the spirit of a prescription. Rather, the teaching sequence gives you a clear, consistent and familiar structure that still allows you to improvise, but also sets up the right conditions for students to focus fully on the content that you are teaching.
