Our aims

We aim to:

  • maintain a professional network of Accelerated Literacy practitioners across Australia
  • support quality assurance of Accelerated Literacy¬†teaching and professional learning across Australia
  • be a forum for practitioners to question, develop and share aspects of their AL teaching
  • publish and disseminate resource materials and academic papers about the theory and practice of the AL pedagogy
  • offer and support professional development in the AL pedagogy
  • promote AL pedagogy in teacher education in Australian universities at undergraduate and post-graduate level
  • promote insights gained from Accelerated Literacy¬†pedagogy in teacher education nationally and internationally
  • lobby for funds for ongoing research and development in scaffolding pedagogy.
